Last week, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder signed into law the Missouri Returning Heroes’ Act. The law, sponsored by Sen. Maida Coleman, D-St. Louis, will require public universities to charge combat veterans just $50 per credit hour for undergraduate coursework.

Thirty volunteers through Mizzou Students for Christ will be traveling to New Orleans for a massive cleanup effort in the city’s Lower Ninth Ward. As part of the annual International Churches of Christ campus ministry conference, held this year in Baton Rouge from July 3-6. 1,400 students from around the country are scheduled to spend the day working.
Construction blocking the sidewalk at the intersection of Eighth and Elm Streets is part of MU’s contribution to beautify the historic Avenue of the Columns.

On July 1, the large animal veterinary student loan program will go into effect. It will help vet students who will practice in rural areas with their debt coming out of school.
The number of freshmen already admitted is a record number, and MU Chancellor Brady Deaton said the decision to cut off applications is in students' best interests.
