COLUMBIA — Jazz saxophonist Kenny G played for a sold-out crowd on Sunday night as part of the MU Concert Series. The 7 p.m. performance was one of many stops on Kenny G’s Holiday Tour 2007. The musician is known for his melodies on the soprano saxophone, which is a variation of the traditional alto saxophone.
Five Kenny G fans told why they like listening to his songs:
“I think his music is soothing and relaxing. It just spellbinds you. The first time I heard him, I just had to listen to the whole piece.”
— Ruth Robb, administrative assistant, Centralia
“I believe he’s into his music. He’s just all-around mellow. He’s just great.”
— Russell Branch, retired, Fulton
“It’s smooth jazz, not be-bop.”
— Sharon Seamon, manager, Columbia
