On Tuesday night, the Rock Bridge girl’s basketball team defeated Liberty Blue Jays 46-44. The Bruins improved their record to 3-0 on the season by defeating the defending state champions.

Coach Jill Nagel was pleased with the road win.

“Liberty is the defending state champs so it is always nice to get the win,” the coach said. “It was a game I thought we were going to win, but I knew it was going to be tough.”

Junior Katherine Harry led the team in scoring with 12 points, but it was a team effort down the stretch that secured the victory.

“Down the stretch we took care of business. Our leadership showed down the stretch when Liberty tried to make a run,” Nagel said.
