W.E. 'Ed' Glover
COLUMBIA — W.E. “Ed” Glover is remembered for his easygoing nature.
“He was always a very pleasant, gentle person,” his son, Eddie Glover, said. “That was probably his main characteristic.”
Mr. Glover died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Lenoir Health Care Center in Columbia. He was 90.
He was born Jan. 22, 1918, in St. Joseph to Clarence and Francis (Lewis) Glover. He married Jane Crim in New Orleans on Dec. 20, 1944.
Mr. Glover was a merchant marine and the owner of Vets Body & Frame Shop. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Glover is survived by his wife; a son, Eddie Glover of Columbia; a daughter, Sandy Lindersmith of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers, Donnie and Warren Glover, both of California; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Calvin and Clarence Glover, and two sisters, Dorothy Daly and Virginia Duenkel, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 E. St. Charles Road. Services, conducted by the Rev. Bob Webb, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.
