Raymond J. Linzie

Raymond J. Linzie of Columbia died Tuesday, April 29, 2008. He was 87.
He was born May 16, 1920, in Callaway County to James Linzie and Sally Hickem.
He married Anna Katherine Haycox on May 31, 2008, and they had nine children.
Mr. Linzie spent the majority of his life working as a chef. He was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church and a member of the Methodist Men’s Usher Board. He was an honorary member of Sigma Pi Gamma Sigma.
Mr. Linzie is survived by three sons, Raymond Floyd Linzie of Kansas City and James Roy Linzie and Charles Delroy Linzie, both of Columbia; three daughters, Erma B. Pegg and Denise Tucker, both of Columbia, and Janice Nunnley of Kansas City; 56 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
His parents; his wife; two brothers, Floyd Cheaton and Richard Linzie; and three children, Edward William Linzie, Anna Marie Linzie and Manual Lee Linzie, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 204 E. Ash St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
